In today´s world, businesses and professionals need to recognise the importance of having a good level of English to help them communicate to their clients with confidence. That is why we at STEM English have prepared a Business English Course to help you deal with your clients and customers in the best possible way. Our courses mainly focuses on Conversation, however students will also be given the tools given to write, read and listen in a business context. We also supplement our courses with business materials and vocabulary according to the requirements of the students and their field of work.
Business Course Objectives
Initially the course will enable the students to participate in work-related discussions in small groups and give an introductory presentation in various situations such as in a business context or a social context. The students will comprehend routine business & professional messages & correspondence and provide professional information in writing, with the appropriate greetings as required.
As the student level increases, they will understand the gist of a meeting participate with ease & express opinions in meetings & discussions. With practice, they will also have the confidence to deliver clear presentations & reports and to obtain clear & detailed information about business & professional matters.
Given the right vocabulary and tools, students will participate in social & professional discussions with native speakers at normal speed. They will understand the general nature of authentic texts & job-related material and compose letters & reports, intelligible to a native speaker.
As fluency, confidence and knowledge increases the students will be able to communicate face to face and on the telephone. They will fully comprehend native-speaker dialogue and deliver full professional briefings/presentations & handle subsequent questions. Students will have the confidence to speak at ease and express & defend opinions, negotiate in difficult circumstances, handle the unexpected and fully understand authentic texts, correspondence, newspapers etc. They will also have the capacity to compose letters/reports to a high standard, which would be in line with their accomplishment at this level.
